PXGATE HELP CENTER
Frequently asked questions about proxies, targeting and billing
Answers to common questions about IPv4 residential, mobile and datacenter proxies, HTTP CONNECT, SOCKS5, sessions, usage and responsible access.
Getting started
What is PXGate?
PXGate provides authenticated IPv4 proxy connectivity through residential, mobile-class and hosting/datacenter exits, subject to live availability.
Which proxy category should I select?
Use residential for a residential-network perspective, mobile for mobile-network testing where available, and datacenter for throughput-focused authorized workloads.
Does PXGate support IPv6?
No. PXGate currently provides IPv4 proxy endpoints.
Are all countries and cities always available?
No. Available location and network filters depend on healthy supply at the time of selection.
How quickly can I start?
Create an account, configure access, review the current pricing, select a proxy type and copy an endpoint from your dashboard.
Authentication and protocols
What protocols are supported?
HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5 are supported. Use the hostname and active ports displayed in the PXGate dashboard.
How do I authenticate?
Use your PXGate-issued username and password. If your account supports it, you may add authorized IPv4 addresses to the allowlist.
Can I rotate my password?
Manage proxy access and available credential controls in your account. Treat exported proxy URLs as secrets.
What does a 407 or SOCKS authentication error mean?
Check your username, password, allowed source addresses and billing/account status. Avoid repeatedly submitting invalid credentials.
Can I use cURL, Python or a browser?
Yes, with clients supporting HTTP CONNECT or SOCKS5. See Docs for integration examples.
Routing and targeting
What is a rotating proxy?
The gateway selects an eligible exit according to your filters. Subsequent connections may use different exits.
What is a sticky session?
A sticky session attempts to retain an exit during a selected session; it can change or fail if the exit becomes unavailable.
Can I choose a country, city or ASN?
Where eligible inventory is available, selectors can narrow country, city, ASN and network. Too many filters can reduce availability.
Can I request a specific IP address?
Static exit targeting is restricted and may require administrator approval. The gateway does not silently replace a specifically requested static exit.
Do proxy providers and exits have different latency?
Yes. Performance varies with origin, destination, geography, upstream networks, service load and protocol.
Billing and usage
How does billing work?
The platform charges usage in USD per GB under your account-specific rate for the traffic class. Verify the applicable rate in your dashboard.
Does upload traffic count?
Traffic accounting can include data transferred through the proxy in both directions. Review your dashboard and agreed commercial terms for the applicable metering method.
Where can I view usage?
Sign in and visit Statistics and Billing to inspect usage and the current balance.
How do deposits work?
Available deposit methods and their instructions are displayed inside your billing dashboard. Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed.
Can I receive a refund?
Refund eligibility depends on the applicable Terms and any mandatory consumer or payment rules. Contact support with the invoice or payment reference.
Reliability, privacy and responsible use
What happens when an exit fails?
The gateway may try another eligible exit when rotating. Exact static-IP selection is strict and is not silently changed.
Does PXGate guarantee uninterrupted uptime?
No service can promise zero downtime. Status indicators and response times can vary; report repeated connection problems to support.
Does a proxy make me anonymous?
No. A proxy changes the apparent network origin of supported traffic, but applications, cookies, accounts and other identifiers may still reveal identity.
Are there prohibited uses?
Yes. Unauthorized access, spam, fraud, malware distribution and violations of third-party rights are prohibited. See the Terms of Service.
How do I contact support?
